Where's the Baby?

Can you find her? So I had to post this picture because it completely surprised me. On a whim I decided to try some pictures of Emmy in the leaves. Just by chance she kind of sunk down in the pile and got completely covered. Of course I thought that she would start to cry because it was unknown to her, but instead she just sat there content as can be. I love how this picture turned out!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

For all of you Americans reading this blog. Yes, here in Canada we celebrate turkey day in October, and it's on a Monday. I spent the morning making delicious pies for the dinner (much less traditional than Pumpkin, they were Lemon Meringue and Banana Cream) and then we headed over to Grandpa and Grandma Selk's for the food and leaf pile. All of the grand kids help rake up the leaves. Most of the cousins were there with the exception of Eric, Justine, Brig, Reagan and Harrison. And they each took turns jumping in or flying completely over them. |After some pictures it was back into the house for the food. It was good, but then again it is always good. I hope you enjoy the pictures of the kids in the leaves.

Hadley's turn in the leaves.

Rawley's turn!

Even Emmy got a chance and it didn't seem to bother her at all!

Banff

I love the Mountains. I completely forgot how beautiful they are. Two weekends ago we were lucky enough to visit the Rocky Mountains right up close. Pat attended a CE course and decided that since he was going we might as well make it a family affair. I didn't really know what I was going to do by myself with three little kids in a bustling tourist town. I can't even count the number of times I was told " Wow, you sure have your hands full". Of course you have to picture me pushing Emmy in the stroller with one hand, Rawley riding on top of the stroller and Hadley being drug by the other hand beside me. If I was seeing this I would say the same thing.

But anyway after spending the first morning getting organized (and spending $30 on breakfast)we were able to see some of the fun things that Banff has to offer. We made a trip to the grocery store for something to eat for breakfast for the rest of the weekend.

We had a chance to go up to the Banff Springs Hotel which was one of the first Hotels built in Banff. I guess it has a history of paranormal activity, so I was glad we didn't stay there. But Pat said that someone from the course experience something while he was staying there. Weird! We saw some great views and took these pictures.

We also went to a couple of parks including Central Park or so it was called, and found this rock sculpture. Hadley took a tumble off of it and split her lip before I had a chance to take any pictures and so that is why she looks less than enthused, and we visited the playground at the elementary school so they could play for a little while. Then a drive to Bow Falls and the golf course which is set down inside the valley. It would be pretty cool to play there completely surrounded by beautiful mountains. Sorry no pictures of these. All the kids were sleeping in the back of the car, and I didn't want to wake them getting them out. A drive up Sulfur Mountain to see where the hot springs were and also the Gondolas which we considered riding but decided to wait till the kids were older.

Sunday afternoon was an uneventful drive home, so that we would be around in time for Thanksgiving. All in all a fun trip. I can't wait to go back and actually have Pat's help with the kids, and take in a few more sites.

Happy ThIRd Birthday!

So Rawley turned 3 on the 9th and he was super excited. We had been gone for the entire weekend prior to Banff (don't worry I will tell you all about it), so we decided to put his birthday off till the weekend. Oh yeah did I mention the 8th was Thanksgiving? So as you can see this time of year is a busy time for our family at least. He is growing like a weed and saying so much more that we can understand. Here are 3 Things I love about my little boy.

1. I love that he is all boy. Trucks, balls, dirt you name it he loves it.
2. I love his laugh. Whenever he laughs I laugh it is contagious.
3. I love that he is a momma's boy. No matter what happens, if he's upset he
needs me. Besides I want to hang on to that idea for as long as possible.

Here are some of my favourite snapshots of him over the past 3 years.

Emmy is 3 Months Old!

So she is 3 months old, she is smiling, laughing and for the first time yesterday rolled from her back to her tummy. She is growing like a weed, and has become her own little person. Rolls and everything. She is my chubbiest baby by far. I love how you can see her leg rolls sitting in her Bumbo. Here are some new pictures of her and the other kids.

Rawley loves to Sing!!

For some reason Rawley is the singer in the family which I think is odd. Pat does not sing, but he does like to teach my kids some silly songs. Here is Rawley singing his ABC's and another surprise for you as well. He sings it so cute I had to include a little video of it for all of you to enjoy!

Rawley's First Day of Preschool!

So my 2 almost 3 year old started Preschool this year!! Hooray! That of course means that he mastered the potty (in the nick of time). He was so excited to meet his teacher he made a run for the door.
