And Waiting!!

Yep that's right still here! I know that my ticker says 2 days to go, but I have to explain why I feel like I should have had this baby by now. You see with all three of my previous pregnancies I have either had my water break or gone into labor on the due date I was given at my 20 week ultrasound. And all three were born early the following morning. Yeah I know it is not very common. So when I was given a due date of Sept 28th this time I figured today would have been the day, but so far it looks highly unlikely considering I only have about 7 hours to meet the deadline! I can only assume that the reasoning of this baby is that it doesn't want to share it's birthday with a Grandma and and Uncle. Sorry you two! My other thoughts are that this hasn't been a typical pregnancy for me either. I am quite small for this being #4. At my last visit I was measuring 33 inches at 38 weeks. Which should be the same and has always been with the prior ones. Plus I don't seem to be gaining weight! I know I shouldn't really complain about that part but what else could possibly be holding this up? So today I finally decided that the baby didn't think we were quite ready, so I put up the crib in our room, washed the bedding and made it up. I found this set for quite a steal I think and I love it!

I decided to pull out the camera and take some pictures including proof of this!

And here are a couple of projects I have made to get ready for baby. Where oh where were these when I had my first baby, that is what I would like to know. I know I only need 1 technically, but I figured that having a back up when one is dirty would be worth it.

I got the tutorial from here. I also made a crochet edge blanket which is tradition for me, plus some burp cloths out of cloth diapers. Sorry no pictures of those, maybe another day!

Well I am off the stove is calling my name, time to make dinner for the rug rats!

Still Waiting!

Yep still here! Nothing really new to report, my doctor's appointment yesterday ended up not happening because he was gone delivering a baby. I guess that I am pretty lucky this was the first time it has ever happened since we moved back. I was hoping to see whether or not I was getting anywhere and see if he could do anything to help speed up the process. I think my kids are tired of evil mom! I seem to have a shorter fuse these days! One good thing though, I can still paint my own toenails! I think that is pretty impressive! I would post a picture to prove it but then I would have to dig the camera out of the hospital bag!

A Quick Update!

So I am in the home stretch now and thought that maybe a few of you would like to know how things are going. So I am 38 weeks, I know already right! I am actually losing weight and measuring 5 inches smaller than I should be. Which I could take either good or bad. I am hoping this baby is just small and not that I still have another month to go! Trust me I am ready for this one to make it's arrival. We decided that it was time to move Emmy into her big girl bed. And since I am more on the independent side, I decided to assemble the bed myself (with a little help from Grandma Reggie, Hadley and Rawley). Emmy was so excited and last night was her first night in a big girl bed. She did surprisingly well only 1 time out, before we closed her door, but the problem I am finding is that she can now reach her light switch from her bed. I will have to think of a creative way to remedy that! I think I made the right choice in furniture, what do you think?

I still need to assemble the dresser (which may take a little while longer, another story entirely) and paint the walls and add a few more decor items including pictures, but you get the idea. The walls are still from when Hadley was in this room 2 years ago. You could say that I have been slacking in that department, but there were other rooms in the house that have taken priority. I will probably have to wait till the baby gets here to finish it entirely. The older kids have eased into the new schedule of school and Rawley is loving Kindergarten Yay!! Hadley is still having a hard time adjusting to her new class, and is insisting that I walk her to her door to line up. I think next week I may start having her walk Rawley in alone, so that she can get the hang of it before the baby arrives. But by that point Pat has offered to start driving them in the mornings so he can deal with it however he chooses I guess. That is all the news so far, I will let you all know when this one finally arrives, but for now I am off to pack my overnight bag for the hospital. Which should have been done weeks ago!

Kindergarten here we come!

This week marked the beginning of everyday classes for Rawley at school. Only going 1 day last week kind of messed up the schedule a bit not to mention the holiday on Monday. But we are now in full swing. I decided that I had better sign up and get a least 1 snack day out of the way before the baby gets here and everything goes down the drain. We were all up bright and early to get ready, but for some reason I had a very restless night. You know when your eyes are closed but it doesn't seem like you got any sleep! I did manage to fight through the exhaustion and we had a fun day. We toured the school which was really nice. I got to see all the behind the scenes of the school, and got a huge wave from Hadley when we walked past her classroom. Plus the usual recess, snack and free center time. I had a more difficult time trying to keep Emmy happy, by the end of the morning she was done. And for that reason she went down for a nap as soon as we got home. It was nice to actually meet with his teachers and get an idea of how things will work this year. But I also think that I will need to make alternate arrangements Emmy, unless she starts reacting better. Oh and what is a blog post without a picture!

I found her like this a few weeks ago, completely passed out with the plastic tool belt still around her waist.

The first days of school!

So I have to say days because Hadley's first day was yesterday, and Rawley went today. Kindergarten here has a staggered entry for the first week so that only a few of the kids in each class go at a time. I think it makes it easier on the teachers as well as the students. All I know is that Rawley was pretty excited to get to class and meet some of the kids he would be getting to know better this year. Hadley's first day was pretty uneventful as well. She was excited to get there to find out who her teacher would be this year and get things rolling. Once it came time for mom to leave I think that she was a little more nervous, she even said she wanted to come home at lunch. I didn't get a phone call so I guess she changed her mind after all. It was hard seeing her sit in a big desk set up in rows, and I was quite shocked when she chose a seat at the very front! I have a feeling this will change the older she gets! She has quite a different group of kids in her class, hopefully it won't take too long for her to make some new friends.

Posing for her first day in the clothes she picked out herself.

Front and center.

I think the look on his face shows just how excited he was for today!

He was so excited to pick out a backpack for school this year! It really didn't surprise me that it had to have Mario on it!

Next week will be the first full week of school for Rawley. I am not to sure how he will adjust to the early wake up time, but I hope by then I have!

Where has the time gone?

So we officially finished our summer vacation today. School starts tomorrow as well as the craziness that comes with it. We were able to have one last getaway to Whitefish which I was very excited for. We literally had to wait till the last week of holidays before we took our big trip. We did spend our summer keeping busy and the tans that my kids have speak for themselves. But onto the trip.

We ended up staying for 6 days so that my hubby could fit in a CE course in Atlanta, before starting back to work. Our first day we spent doing the boring stuff as Pat would say, but I like the shopping. I did offer to go by myself, but that didn't fly either. So we got as much of it taken care of so we could start enjoying the fun. Our first day of fun included a trek up to the top of Big Mountain Ski resort. We were staying in a condo on the way up to the mountain so it wasn't too far to go. I am really amazed at all they had to offer for summer. I am used to ski hills being a destination in the winter not the summer. We started off at the Alpine slide, which I of course opted out of. I figured that going into labor wasn't the best plan, so Pat took turns taking each of the kids down the run.

Even Emmy had to have her turn. She is the biggest daredevil I have ever seen. Absolutely no fear at all. Next was a ride up the Gondola's to the summit to check out the view.

The kids of course thought that this was pretty boring. I guess they aren't quite big enough to enjoy the beauty of the mountains. Pat was drooling over the downhill mountain bikers. He would have jumped aboard in a second if he had a bike. Maybe next year hunny! They also have a zip line and a walk in the tree tops which sounded like fun, but we will have to wait till the kids get a little bit bigger. We BBQ'd some steak and lobster that night which was delicious!! But the condo smelled like seafood for a couple of days after. Completely worth it in my opinion! And we hit the new swimming pool. Super fun and all of the kids loved it. Hadley turned 7 on the trip. I still cannot believe that my little baby is 7. We spent her birthday doing a ton of fun stuff. First off was a visit to the Black Bear Adventure. A little pricey but it was kind of neat. There were 4 bears and they were pretty close to the vehicle, one even followed us up the road.

After a quick lunch we headed back for some more fun. Again Pat had to take turns with the kids riding go karts and bumper boats.

Her dad steered her under the jet of water, and she got soaked. What a nice present!!

Except for the mini golf Emmy and I had to sit out for most of the activities.

But the older 2 had a blast. We finished the day with a little more shopping and then headed back to the condo for cake and presents. Well cupcakes! I went with the easiest thing considering I was not at home and not really wanting to make a huge mess. But Hadley was happy with what she had and did get some fun things.

It was a long day and the kids crashed in bed around 10pm. So much for trying to keep to a schedule to get back to school. We also had a friendly squirrel that visited the deck nightly, we had quite the time leaving out some nuts and then watching him scurry back and forth collecting all of the goodies. He was pretty brave too. Getting within a couple of feet from the kids.

The next day we spent at City Beach. Pat had rented a Jet Ski for the day and took turns taking all of the kids out for a spin around the lake.

We also were joined by my awesome friend Noelle and her kids. They were on their way home and stopped by to play for the day and have somewhere to sleep. We all had fun playing in the sand and the water, eating pizza, and being goofy. Besides I don't get to see her that often and we have been friends since we were 11, so having the extra visit was nice. We said goodbye to them the next day after again some more shopping and lunch at 5 Guys Burgers and Fries. Super yummy burgers and hot dogs and fresh cut fries. We ate there a couple of times because it was so good. I would recommend it to anyone headed that way!

To finish off the trip we took the kids bowling. Hadley has been before but the other 2 had not. I shared my turns with Emmy which she loved! Check out the scores. I actually got beat by Rawley in the first game but made up for it in the second!

His face really sums up how much fun he was having!

We had a great time and it is nice having a place to stay when we go. Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma! (Who we also got to talk to while we were there!) We headed home bright and early the next morning. Made it in good time, and have had a couple of days to unwind and work on going to bed early! We will have to see how long it takes to get used to getting up before the sun! Hopefully not to long considering there is only 4 weeks to go till this baby arrives!
