We must be crazy!!

I am still not quite sure why we decided to do this, but now for lack of better judgement our yard looks like this.

Of course it must be done in order to install the sprinklers and do the new landscaping, but I am not sure how happy I am to be without a yard for the next few weeks. Hopefully I will be able to keep my kids entertained other ways, and thankfully we will be gone all next week. Stay tuned for the after pictures! I am quite excited to see how the changes turn out! We also had a wonderful rain storm hence all of the water in these pics.

Rawley and Emmy had fun watching them dig out the grass with the bobcat. I think Emmy must have spent the majority of the afternoon watching them.

Summer Fun!

So I figured that I should maybe post about all of the exciting things we have been doing this summer! Well it has been fun that is for sure. Not only has my 3 year old almost completed every level in Mario Kart Wii (I was reading The Host), we have also made it to the spray park a couple of times, completed one session of swimming lessons with another to go in August, and made it to the lake today with my friend Amy and her kids. All in all it has been pretty eventful considering we still haven't left for any real trips yet. Here are some pictures of our adventures!

So far a great summer, but it is going by so fast! We have a trip to Montana planned for later this month so I will update more then, hope everyone is having a great summer just like us!

She walks!

So Emmy has technically been taking steps since the end of April, back and forth between Pat and I, and just about everyone else. I am sure that she was "walking" earlier, but I don't officially call it walking until my kids do one thing. They have to be able to stand up by themselves without holding onto something for support. Well my sweet girl did that on June 29, 2008 (which was also my dad's 60th birthday) right in the middle of my primary lesson. Pat was out of town on a fishing trip to Vancouver, hence the reason why she had joined in my class. I did finally get a little video of her accomplishment, and now I am finding it easier to chase her around. She sure was fast on her hands and knees, and still relies on them when she tries to make a quick getaway!

Soccer Fest

I had both Hadley and Rawley in the Spring session of soccer this year for the first time. It was nice to see them participate in a sport where they had to use teamwork. They both had a good time and took pretty well to the sport. Hadley got pretty into it. She was always trying to get the ball and make a goal. Rawley on the other hand would chase after the ball, but would never try to take it from anyone. If it was passed to him it was all good. The cutest thing was every time he made a goal he would throw both hands up in celebration and jump around. They wrapped up the season with a final game outside, and then got hot dogs and medals which they both proudly wore home. It will be interesting to see which of them want to play again next year. I didn't get a picture of Hadley's medal because the camera battery died a couple of minutes before. I think it is time to invest in a second battery or just make sure the one we have is fully charged before an event like this one!

Last day of Kindergarten!

It is so hard to think that this year is already over. And I thought that the first day was hard. I have seen so many changes in Hadley over the past year. She has grown so much and it is mostly in part to her great teachers! Although she had quite the year, with 3 different teachers I know they each helped in all of the amazing things that she learned. I am stunned to see her reading all on her own. Writing sentences, and always asking how to spell things. She even had to write the cards she gave to her teachers. My little girl is growing up, almost 6 and going into Grade One. They had a graduation picnic for all of the kids in kindergarten and each class had their own t-shirt made with the names of their classmates on the back. They were super cute, and a nice little reminder to have when they are graduating from High School in 2020. Congratulations on Graduating from Kindergarten Hadley.

Last day of Preschool

How sad it is when the school year ends, and I am left with filling an entire summer with activities to occupy my very high energy 3 year old. We did have a great picnic to end the year. Rawley had an amazing teacher, who we will truly miss next year! She put a lot of preparation into the picnic which was full of games, food and the cutest pinata that looked like a beehive. It was a great close to a great year, and something that I hope Rawley will remember for a long time.

Lions, Tigers and BEARS! Oh my!

I never thought that a day of golfing would turn into a heart thumping, pulse racing experience. But on Pat's golf outing a couple of weeks ago it did. We are very fortunate to live in the shadows of the Rocky Mountains, but that also means when we head to one of our favorite National Parks - Waterton we tend to see a lot of wildlife. Pat spent the day golfing the amazing course there, and found himself and his golf group about 15 feet away from a bear. At this point I may have hightailed it out of there, but of course Pat had to take a few pictures and then finish his round. What a crazy guy!
