Happy St. Paddy's Day a day late!

I don't know why we love this day so much in our house, but we do. I just wanted to show what we did to celebrate! We set up the trap Hadley made in Kindergarten to see if we could catch a leprechaun, we found this when we woke up the next morning.

The Lucky Charms are always a favorite on this day because it is the only time that I will splurge and buy it for my kids! There was also a pile of gold, which is now being watched closely by the leprechaun Rawley made at school and cleverly named Paddy!

Unfortunately we didn't catch one this year, but we will have 2 chances next year thanks to the trap that Rawley made. Here is what he did for his.

We also get a picture in our new green shirts, except this year I chose to reuse a couple of those shirts! Emmy is wearing an old shirt of Hadley's and Addy and old shirt of Emmy's. I am trying to cut back on the spending! Hadley decided to go with cute rather than green and that is why her shirt is not entirely green! You can barely see it but it has a strawberry with a green stem on it!

I had to include the silly face picture because it makes me laugh every time I see it!

I was also hoping to have a new niece or nephew on St. Patrick's Day but he also decided to come in the wee hours of the morning today! Little Everett came just after 1am weighing 8lbs 1oz. We are very excited to meet him! Congratulations Brock and Tasha!

It never happens...

but today it did. My little tornado and I were playing a game and she looks at me and says "I'm tired". So I ask if she wants to go and lie down to which she answers "no" like always and we finish the game. A little later we head to pick up Hadley from school, and before I know it she is sound asleep in her car seat. I expected her to wake up the second I brought her in the house, but she slept like this for almost 2 hours.

I hope it happens again tomorrow!

5 Months

I can't believe that it is that time already! I don't remember any of my other kids growing up so quickly and it is hard for me to accept that Addy is already 5 months old. Here she is in all her glory!

She loves her feet and every chance she gets she is grabbing at them. Here are some of the things she is doing now.

She has rolled over from back to stomach and stomach to back, but hasn't fully mastered it yet thankfully!

She is easily entertained and her brother and sisters can get her to laugh the best!

She is my best sleeper! But I think that is partially because she sucks her thumb!

She loves to be in the middle of everything, leave her alone and she gets upset but as long as she can see what's going on she is fine.

She has outgrown the bouncy seat and graduated to the exersaucer.

She has started to blow raspberries and can get quite a mouthful of bubbles when she wants to.

She is growing and changing everyday, it is hard to believe that only 5 months ago she looked like this.

Sometimes I wish I could freeze time!

More Addy stuff!

So we had a doctor's appointment today to see how Addy is growing. She is 15lbs and 26 1/2 inches long. She is finally slowing down in the weight gain. Only because she is no longer nursing all night long, since she is sleeping in her own room. I have been spoiled, she is definitely my best sleeper. I don't remember any of my other kids sleeping as good as her. Last night she slept from 8pm till 4am without a single peep, and then she was up for the morning at 8am. Loved it! I can only hope it lasts!

Purple Hair

Rawley's kindergarten class got a visit from a kid's only salon here in the city, and they each got to choose a color to put in their hair. I had to get a picture from my little poser! I just love this one!

Wow!

Has it been an entire month since I have made an update on here? I guess so. Things around our house have been quite busy this last month to say the least! But since now I have something to blog about I figure that I will just fill you all in with everything! First off. Addy is 4 months old today! Wow already! I can't hardly believe it! Here she is in all her glory sick with a little cold and all!

Next I have been scrambling to get all of the last minute house changes finished. It was time to move Addy to her own room, so the rearranging began right after she turned 3 months old. We decided that instead of having Emmy and Addy share a room we would get rid of the spare bed that was set up in the basement and move Rawley down. His room is still not finished it is lacking curtains and a lot of things still need to be hung up.

Now Hadley isn't all by herself and he seems to enjoy being down there. The only problem is that we no longer have a place for visitors! Sorry guys! Unless you feel like crashing on the mattress in the middle of the floor which is always an option! Once he was moved we painted his old room for Addy, moved the crib and rocking chair in and my mom whipped up a curtain valence for the window since I already had the rod hanging in there. This is obviously still a work in progress but here is what it looks like so far.

I am kicking myself for not moving her sooner. She sleeps soooo much better. Just last night she slept for 7 hours straight! I am keeping my fingers crossed that this pattern will continue, but I am sure there will be good and bad nights from here on out!

I still have Emmy's bedroom to paint and a few touch ups and then I can officially say that there is no more painting for me in this house ever!! The question is when will I get to it! I have also been trying to complete the bathroom in the basement which has been a work in progress for almost 4 years. Yep 4 that is really quite hard for me to say! But all that is left is to seal the tile and silicone around the sink and bathtub, hang the towel rods and such, get a few pictures and towels and then done! Then we will see how often it gets used! It has come a long way from when we first bought our house. Here is what it looked like when we first moved in. You can't really tell but it was small. You can actually see the edge of the sink in the picture of the shower.

And this is what it looks like now.

And finally I think the main reason for me not updating all that often is that I finally broke down and joined the gym. The treadmill in the basement just wasn't cutting it for me! But I have been going for almost a month now and have just made it part of my day. Hopefully I will start seeing some results from my hard work, but that might be harder than I think! We will have to wait and see. Well I think that just about takes care of the last month, hopefully it won't be another month before I can update again.

Last one I promise!

I get into blogging spurts when I have some free time and today turned out to be the day! In most cases it is just adding a picture to a post that I had started on the laptop and saved. Often times though it turns into weeks of waiting for that single picture to be added so that it could be posted! I think that may have to be one of my resolutions for this year! We'll see how it goes. But I just wanted to leave a quick post on our Christmas.

Christmas Eve was at our house this year. We always exchange gifts with my siblings and their significant others and since we were the only ones with kids around this year we moved it from my mom's house to our house so they could try to be in bed at a decent hour. We ate some yummy food, played Beatles Rock Band, opened presents, and after the kids were tucked in their beds, the grown ups played a couple of games. Needless to say it was LATE by the time we were finished with all of the Christmas setup and exhausted.

Here are the kids in their Christmas Eve Jammie's

The kids let us sleep in on Christmas morning (which was much appreciated since we had such a late night) and Addy slept through the entire morning so the other kids opened her gifts and we got a picture of her with them when she woke up. It was a very fun day for all I think the kids were pleasantly surprised when Santa was able to fulfill all of their wishes and more.
