She loves shoes!

So my 11 month old is a shoe fanatic. I have found her numerous times crawling up in the front hall closet to drag out every pair of shoes. While I have about had enough of cleaning them back up after her, so I decided to let her have her fun and work on closing the doors after we have finished using the closet. We will see how it goes. It is kind of nice having something to keep her occupied with.

Crawling in to get a better reach.

Couldn't resist including this one. I think that she is just adorable with her pony!

Why does something always....

happen when it is too quiet. Today I was helping Hadley with her workbook, when I suddenly realized that it was much too quiet in my house considering I have a 3 yr old. Much to my dismay I did eventually find him locked in our bathroom. Behind that locked door all I could hear was the sound of my husbands trimmer buzzing away. You have to understand that my dear boy Rawley has been talking about having his head shaved ever since Pat had his own done while raising money for cancer. I did eventually get the door unlocked, only to find that he had cut off quite a chunk of hair. My first instinct of course was to get angry and send him to his room. But the curious child in me went and got the camera to take a lovely picture of what had occurred. We then proceeded to fulfill his wish of shaving off his long shaggy hair. I guess that I should be grateful that it was done in the warm spring instead of the cold winter. We had a nice chat about how only mom or dad was to cut his hair, and I am hoping that next time he listens to what I said.

The damage

This is what I found on the counter after getting into the bathroom

And here is my handsome boy now

Tasty Sensations!

So I stumbled upon this blog through my friend Jamie. I am not the greatest cook so I am always on the lookout for great recipes. Right now she is having a cookbook giveaway, and I can't pass up a good giveaway. Go and take a look!

Emmy, Emmy bo Bemmy!

So I can't believe that my baby is almost one! She is starting to turn into a little girl instead of a baby. It seems like this year has flown by, and I miss my tiny baby that relies on me. But then again I am enjoying watching her as she finds things to get into. She has found the toilet and the toilet paper. I am constantly rolling the toilet paper back onto the roll, and making sure the lid is down on the toilets. This is a must because my 3 yr old tends to forget to flush every so often. Much to my dismay I have found her splashing in a unflushed toilet more times than I would like. She has been cruising for a while, and is starting to get brave enough to let go of the furniture. I don't know if she will take those precious first steps before she is 11 months old, but I am sure it will be sooner than later.

Bye Renee!

So my sister left to go back home after 3 weeks away. She was a great help with watching our kids when we were gone to Mexico, and I think that she enjoyed her time here even though she missed spending her 5th Anniversary and 1st Mother's Day with her Hubby. Thanks Matt! We will return the favor one day I promise. I always love having her around, and miss that she lives so far away! Now that she is gone, I no longer have an excuse for my house being a disaster, staying up way too late, or watching High School Musical over and over.

Good-bye Renee and Jonas we will miss you!!!

Toothless!

So this post is long overdue, but I figure better late than never. My darling Hadley lost her first tooth on May 3rd. We came home from Mexico to find that her adult tooth was starting to come in behind the baby tooth. My wonderful sister kept her from pulling it out. She was so sweet to not let us miss out on this big milestone. Hadley was so excited that she wouldn't even put it under her pillow for the tooth fairy, she had to bring it to school to show everyone in her class. It did eventually find it's way under the pillow and the tooth fairy brought Hadley a shiny dollar for it. She has another loose one but won't pull it out, I think she is waiting for dad to help her again.

Cute toothless smile!

So I had to add an update. She finally lost that second tooth. It was hanging on by a thread and I finally convinced her to pull it today! (May 22) Now I can really call her toothless!

We're Back!!

I have to say that a week without a computer is awful! I know that is pretty sad. I have to say it was nice to open my blog lines and see a update from almost everyone that I read! But I will not regret going to Mexico. We had a great week away, but by the end we were missing the kids. Although we did have one little reminder, thanks to Emmy. She was a trooper. I thought that it would have been a lot harder having her along, but for the most part she went along with everything we did without a lot of complaints. It even felt sometimes that she wasn't even there.

Our trip started out terrible. (And for that reason we will never fly AA again) Every one of our flights were delayed, and we had to go through customs twice each way. We did finally land in Cancun only 8 hours later than expected. But once we were in the rental car it was smooth sailing. We had a great time at the beach, and spent a couple of days going to the Tulum Ruins and Xcaret. Both well worth the trip. Next time we will do a lot more than just shopping.

Pat saw these Spider Monkeys in Playa Del Carmen and just had to hold one!

This was the best restaurant that we ate at. It was unbelievable, but I can't remember the name of it. Can you believe it is only 7:30pm and already dark.

In the butterfly exhibit at Xcaret.

Baby sea turtles. The gather eggs from Xcacel beach and hatch them, then release them back in the ocean once they are big enough. So cool close enough you could even touch them. Too bad they had security watching over them.

Tulum ruins.

The water was awesome.
We were able to walk down to the beach right in the ruins, and go for a swim. Emmy had her first taste of sand, and ocean in the same day.

Pat has been begging for a pet Iguana forever, unfortunately this is the closest he will probably get to owning one. They pretty much ran free everywhere you went.
